The Lima News wins 20 journalism awards in statewide competition

May 4, 2009 - The Lima News won 20 journalism awards Sunday in the Associated Press of Ohio’s annual newspaper competition. It was the second straight year the newspaper received 20 awards, which is the most The Lima News has won in the yearly competition.

The awards are for work completed in 2008 and include two first-place honors, five second-place finishes, nine third-place honors and four honorable mentions, one of which was in General Excellence.
The Lima News placed in 19 of 34 categories.
