Freedom Communications Names Al Frattura Publisher of Daily Press and Desert Dispatch
Oct. 24, 2012 - IRVINE, Calif. - Freedom Communications, Inc. announced today that Al Frattura has been named Publisher of both the Daily Press in Victorville, Calif. and the Desert Dispatch in Barstow, Calif., and will also serve as Vice President of Freedomís Pacific Region effective Nov. 1. As Vice President, Frattura will oversee the Freedom properties in Yuma, Ariz. (The Sun), Marysville, Calif. (Appeal Democrat), and Porterville, Calif. (The Recorder). Frattura succeeds Stephan Wingert, who has served as Publisher since 2004 and Regional V.P. since 2011.

Frattura most recently served as Publisher of The Record Eagle in Traverse City, MI. Prior to that, he held multiple publisher positions with the Journal Register Co. along with several advertising management positions with the Gannett Company.
Wingert has accepted a position with AIM Media Texas, LLC as Publisher of The Monitor in McAllen, Texas and Regional Vice President of the AIM Media Texas publications in the Rio Grande Valley. He previously served as the General Manager of The Monitor from 2000 to 2004.
