Location:
The Gazette is located in Gastonia, county seat of Gaston County in the Western Piedmont area of North Carolina. Gastonia is 20 miles west of downtown Charlotte and a 15-minute drive from the Charlotte international airport.

Market:
Gaston County, once deeply dependent of the textile industry, is quickly shifting into a diversified economy, still marked by American manufacturing operations such as Freightliner trucks and Boeing flight systems. The western side of the county is more rural with homesites developed around Crowders Mountain State Park and Kings Mountain National Military Park.

The Gaston County area boasts museums, symphony, professional and amateur theaters, the National Olympic Whitewater Training Center, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, state and national parks, lakes and rivers, biking and walking trails. The NFL Carolina Panthers and NBA Charlotte Bobcats and Charlotte Checkers professional hockey team plan within a 20-minute drive from The Gazette. Gastonia is located in the heart of NASCAR country, 30 minutes from Lowes Motor Speedway.
