Special Features:
We have four 4-color section fronts a day, with a focus on
local news and photos on A1 daily; a local/state news section
inside that prominently displays the remainder of local work
and state wire news. Produces three regional editions Mon-Fri.
News is updated throughout the day on Internet. Very active
with community websites, numerous niche products, and special
events.

Received AP General Excellence Awards for newspapers with a
circulation of 25,000 to 74,999 five of the last six years.
Received Freedom Award of Excellence and Freedom Newspapers
Community Stewardship Award. More than 120 AP awards since

THE COMMUNITY
Location:
Halfway between Toledo and Dayton along I-75. We are two
hours from Detroit and Cincinnati, 90 minutes from Columbus,
3 hours from Indianapolis, 3½ hours from Cleveland, 4 hours
from Pittsburgh, and 4-5 hours from Chicago.
Market:
Our region of NW Ohio attracts 400,000 people to our shopping,
medical and industrial sites and businesses. The area boasts
two major regional hospitals, the Lima Husky Refinery, a Ford
engine plant, a Procter & Gamble plant and the Joint Systems
Manufacturing Center, which makes military vehicles for the Army,
Navy and the U.S. Marine Corp. Lima City Schools has re-created
its facilities with a $104 million building project that equips
our schools for the future.
Things to do:
We have a flourishing and innovative Lima Symphony Orchestra,
an excellent community library, one of the best county museums
in the United States, a joint campus of The Ohio State University
and Rhodes State College, many challenging golf courses, community
theatre and arts programs, and a dirt-track stock car racing facility.
Snow skiing areas in Ohio and Michigan are within an hour or two of Lima.
Boating and fishing are popular in spring/summer on nearby lakes and on Lake
Erie.
